Phoenix Camp is hosted at Pencraig farm. The farm is situated between Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen, in the midst of 80 acres of stunning Welsh scenery, but well within striking distance of local amenities and attractions.
Pengraig is a small rural community of around 12 residents. The community manages the woodland and gardens at the farm and host small events. A local farmer keeps sheep and harvests winter fodder on the remainder of the farms 80 acres with the assistance of one of the residents.
There is plenty of room to stretch out at Pengraig. The camping field is very large and is able to accommodate tents, caravans and campers.
There are composting loos and washroom with gas showers. The emphasis is very much on alternative technologies and we are keen recyclers. We try and encourage everyone to sort their recycling during camp by providing a clearly labelled recycling areas and appropriate bin bags. We also run a recycling workshop at the beginning of every camp.
We have lots of big dry spaces to shelter us all from the worst of the weather. There is a fine woodland play area with it’s pirate ship centrepiece.
There are large areas of woodland, including a fantastic woodland walk which is a fully boarded and landscaped boardwalk, winding along the top of a beautiful steep valley. This leads to the bushcraft area which will be the scene of many of our outdoor sessions.
