It is with a broken heart that we are forced to announce the cancellation of August's camp.
We put this moment off for so long, hoping against hope we could come up with a workable solution. We've done multiple risk assessments, over and over, until we were forced to come to the conclusion we simply can't make it work.
With campsites reopening, self containment is crucial, which unfortunately is the exact opposite to the point of Phoenix.
In effect, we wouldn't be able to have workshops, the loos would be closed, as would the party barn, communal wash areas would have to be off limits, as would the showers.
We've spent hours and hours trying to overcome these issues to make this camp happen for August (especially Rachel).
How do we arrive on a field and not come together fully? Not hug the people we love who we have missed so terribly?
Constrain our wonderful children from running free, say no to sleepovers?
The whole point of Phoenix is coming together and that simply isn't possible in the current circumstances.
For those who have bought tickets, we offer you the choice of carrying them over to next year or accepting a full refund.
You are all completely amazing every single one of you. We miss you all xxx
Kind regards, The Phoenix Team.
